Screw Eye or Eye Bolt to secure ladder

Large Screw Eye and plastic plug for 10mm hole. (Eye Bolt). Use for securing ladder to wall. See below.

Zinc plated screw eye. Overall length measures 75mm. Diameter of eye measures approximately 19mm. Overall thread diameter approx 8.25mm.

Other uses include securing clothes line to a wall, securing wires for climbing plants or anchorage points for guy wires.

Red arrow indicates position of eye bolt in wall.

Please note that the eye bolt is not welded closed so, under high forces, the eye can come open. It should be regarded as an extra safety measure and not the ONLY safety measure.

Before you screw the eye bolt into the plastic plug, please make sure that both are free from brick dust and use plenty of grease on them.

After use, they can be left in place (protected with silicone grease) or you can remove them for possible future use elsewhere and fill the hole.
