The signal will be blocked by thick stone walls and by metal (in the form of aluminium-backed plasterboard for example). | | | You'll find various videosender systems on this page. The wireless range of "Videosenders", such as the "Digisender" DG200 and DG400, which will transmit the picture and sound to the 2nd TV and will transmit the remote control commands back to the Digibox or whatever. The 2nd TV must have a socket for A/V input. This will normally be a Scart socket or three phono (RCA) sockets. * Not some cable boxes. A built in magic eye feature enables you to use your remote control wherever your DigiSender receiver is installed Disadvantages OK, that's the sales blurb and it's mostly true but I have to point out that this uses a low-power, high frequency transmitter and, like all such devices, there's no way it can ever give better results than cable - except it *does* carry stereo audio. But these devices have a limited transmission range (low power) and they *are* susceptible to interference and to movements of people nearby. For a long time I held off stocking a videosender because I *prefer* to be able to guarantee good results. I can't do that when performance depends on distance, on the thickness and content of walls and on the proximity of nearby human beings and metal objects. But customers are demanding these units, so here it is! Most of the time the results are good to excellent but you have to understand that there's a chance that your particular installation might not be as good as you'd like. This applies to ALL videosenders and not just this one. Our normal money-back guarantee applies (See Terms & Conditions). - Another potential problem: it has only one transmission channel so, if your immediate neighbour has a DG200, it's possible that your Sky Digibox remote will change *his* channel and vice-versa. You may also receive *his* pictures and vice-versa.
- All these products use magic eyes which are designed to be placed directly in front of the source device. With a DigiSender the limiting factor is that the unit needs to be attached to the satellite box etc via a scart lead and thus the unit will need to be close to the equipment.
