Humax 9300T/9150T Power Supply kit

Humax 9300T capacitor kit provides a cure for "9300T locking up" fault.

Might be suitable for other models. If your power supply looks exactly like this then the kit should be suitable.

Please, please don't be tempted to replace the capacitors with general purpose or "audio" ones from your nearest electronics store. For good reliability, the capacitors need to have a low ESR value, otherwise you'll have the same (or similar) fault back within a year.

RELKIT45 contains replacements for the unreliable CapXon capacitors and is guaranteed for 3 years. When you place an order you will receive an email with a link to the instructions.

Go to order page.

See list of local repairers if you can't solder. Click HERE.

Note: Power supply failure can cause various symptoms because the resultant low voltages or "noisy" power can cause data corruption on the Hard Drive, resulting in "failed recordings", "missing recordings", "slow operation", "hesitation", "stuck in standby". You name it, it can happen!

Best advice is to replace those capacitors NOW, before it goes wrong or before it gets worse and damages your Hard Drive.

Customer Feedback

"I have had good success with the RELKIT45 with both PVR-9150 and PVR-9300. The symptoms can be any of a number of symptoms allied to 'Lock-Up'. From slow response to the Remote Control, Refusal to react to the R/C, Failure to respond to Front Controls. Won't come out of Standby, etc.

Faults take varying lengths of time to appear - may be allied to internal temperature of the PVR. Use of the back panel on/off switch usually clears the fault but usually just for a relatively short time, also you can lose several minutes of programme due to the switch off/switch on delay.

Generally I rebuild the PSU panel with contents of RELKIT45 for a complete repair but I always make a point of dusting and cleaning all panels, dust out the Fan etc. I then run a two or three hour soak test and, if satisfactory, format the Hard Drive, Retune the receiver, do a software download if necessary and do a default reset. Finally a 24hr soak test to confirm everything OK. This all of course applies to both 9150 & 9300 models."

"The receiver was in use by my mother who was experiencing holes in the EPG and failed recordings.I read about the capacitors having reliability issues so thought a Relkit would be a good idea prior to using the box again. The Humax has so far been 100% reliable over the last two weeks and I have a theory that the holes in the EPG may have been due to the box remaining is Standby for long periods and not necessarily a fault. On another note I was using a Sky HD box with a minimal subscription due to there being no DTT signal, the Sky HD box was a first generation one which was experiencing the usual lock-ups, this receiver was treated to one of your Relkits and this restored normal operation for a number of years now."
