Prices

Q. Why are your prices low compared with other retailers?

A. We can negotiate good deals with trade warehouses because we spend a lot with them. Our overheads are low (no shop and no telephone ordering). So all you pay us is the trade price, plus our profit percentage, plus carriage and VAT.

Q. Why are your prices high compared with eBay?

A. You know the old adage: "If it seems too good to be true, it probably is!" The reason that some prices are less than the manufacturing cost on eBay is that the goods are stolen, refurbished or otherwise of doubtful origin. It's as simple as that. They may work perfectly well but it's up to you whether you want to take the risk.

Q. Why has the Shopping Cart calculated a ludicrously high carriage charge?

A. We arrange shipping from the Wholesale warehouse direct to your door. The warehouses do not have a postal collection and do not have anyone available to drive to the nearest Post Office and stand in a queue. So they use a delivery company instead and charge us accordingly. The *minimum* they charge us is currently £7.50 + VAT (one wholesaler charges us a minimum of £10 + VAT). The price increases for larger items and for shipping "over water" the minimum is currently £21. As we have no way to tell the Shopping Cart the exact size or weight of the parcel (bearing in mind that we may have to ship your order from more than one warehouse) it is programmed to make a "best guess". Most orders will contain small items shipped from our Sales Office and larger items shipped from one or more warehouses. We could get the warehouses to send the items to us then ship everything in one box, but this would add a delay withut necessarily being any cheaper.

We do try to be fair with our shipping charges while, at the same time, covering our actual costs. We often charge less than the Shopping Cart estimates (and occasionally more). We try to keep you informed of costs before shipping so that you may cancel or change your order. You are welcome to place an order but ask us to contact you with the exact carriage charge before shipping. This could delay your order but you'll be assured of the lowest cost.
